Search-as-you-type for Hyvä and ElasticSuite
Products, categories and brands found from the first letters typed and from inside words, ranked by relevance, in a dropdown that fits any header.
Answers from the first letters
"jack" finds Jackets and "wat" finds Watches while the word is still being typed, where ElasticSuite's stemmed autocomplete finds nothing.
Inside words, too
"acket" finds Jacket and a fragment finds the full name. Words that start with the typed text always rank first.
Products, categories and brands
Products follow the store's search rules, categories show their parent path, and brands or any select attribute appear with their product count.
A dropdown that fits
Two columns when the header is wide, one on mobile, with full keyboard navigation and ARIA combobox semantics.
Hyvä-native, CSP-ready
An Alpine component verified under Alpine's CSP build. Plain CSS that follows the theme's primary color, no Tailwind rebuild.
Safe to switch off
Disabled for a store view, the header search goes back to ElasticSuite's own autocomplete, unchanged.
Why Discovery
ElasticSuite builds its autocomplete from word stems, so a customer halfway through a word often sees no products and no categories at all. Discovery indexes the words as they are written, so the dropdown starts answering from the first letters.
Built to be extended
Add your own suggestion source, such as authors, stores or blog posts, with one class and a few lines of di.xml. Prices are computed by a class you can replace with a preference.
